BOSTON— Edmund DiSanto, Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Secretary of the Boston-based American Tower Corporation, a company cited by Fortune Magazine in 2022 as one of the “World’s Most Admired Companies,” will be honored by the New England Legal Foundation at the Eighth Annual John G.L. Cabot Award Dinner, Tuesday, October 18, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza.
The New England Legal Foundation (NELF – www.newenglandlegal.org) is the leading non-profit public interest law firm in the region dedicated to addressing policy and constitutional concerns related to free enterprise. The John G. L. Cabot Award Dinner, a highlight of the legal industry’s annual calendar, honors “an individual whose work reflects a steadfast commitment to the advancement of free enterprise principles in our community, both in public discourse and in our courtrooms.” The Award is named for John G. L. Cabot, in recognition of his long and distinguished support of the New England Legal Foundation (NELF) and service as a member of NELF’s board of directors from 1978-1994. In 1995, after serving as vice chair, treasurer and chair of NELF, Mr. Cabot became a trustee of the organization, a post he holds today.

Mr. DiSanto joined American Tower in April 2007. Prior to then, he had been with Pratt & Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corporation. Mr. DiSanto started with United Technologies in 1989, where he first served as Assistant General Counsel of its Carrier subsidiary, then as corporate Executive Assistant to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of United Technologies. From 1997, he held various legal and business roles at its Pratt & Whitney unit, including Deputy General Counsel and, most recently, Vice President, Global Service Partners, Business Development.
Prior to joining United Technologies, Mr. DiSanto served in a number of legal and related positions at United Dominion Industries and New England Electric Systems. Mr. DiSanto earned a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University. In 2013, Mr. DiSanto became a member of the Board of Directors of the Business Council for International Understanding.
