NELF’s Views on Legislation to Stop Home Equity Theft Receive North Shore Media Coverage
BOSTON – The Salem News and Gloucester Times each last week reported on pending legislation to end home equity theft from the sale of homes to satisfy overdue local taxes. Both newspapers noted that the New England Legal Foundation is a “critic of the practice” in Massachusetts of local government forfeiting a homeowner’s equity beyond the amount of tax owed.
